SUMMARY:CDTC-REI Opt Outside Pride Hike: Mount Ascension | Helena\, MT
DESCRIPTION:Kick off Opt Outside season with CDTC and REI Co-op in Helena! Join L Fisher\, CDTC’s Director of Trail Programs\, for a 2.5-mile hike up Mount Ascension in Helena’s South Hills\, right in one of our Montana Gateway Communities. \nThis hike is part of Opt Outside\, REI Co-op’s movement to spend time outside instead of shopping\, and it’s also a Pride on the Divide celebration of the LGBTQ+ community on the Continental Divide Trail. Everyone is welcome. There’s no wrong way to Opt Outside®. \nWe’ll start early and wrap up by about 11:00 AM\, so there’s plenty of Saturday left when we’re done. Share your photos with #OptOutside and tag @REI and @cdtcoalition. \nGood to know: \n\nEarly November mornings in Helena are cold\, and the trail may have snow or ice.\nWear warm layers\, gloves\, a hat\, and sturdy boots\, and bring water.\nVault toilets are available at the trailhead.
