Hopewell Lake – Trail Maintenance

Location :Carson National Forest - New Mexico
Description :

The Continental Divide Trail Coalition will be returning to the Carson National Forest with the help of our volunteers to support our land manager friends in some light maintenance on the CDT. The Carson National Forest spans 1.5 million acres and includes endangered species like the Mexican Spotted Owl and the New Mexico Meadow Jumping Mouse. This 3-day project will have volunteers addressing basic tread maintenance, corridor clearing, signage, and drainage on the CDT, all of which will improve accessibility and enjoyment of the CDT for the public, and will also mitigate erosion and other trail degradation. The work will take place south of Forest Road 559 toward Mogote Peak.

We hope to see your smiling face with us in the beautiful Carson National Forest this fall!
