Join CDTC for community hikes as part of Cibola Trail Days! Experience the beauty of Cibola County trails along the CDT and connect with local cultural heritage alongside fellow outdoor enthusiasts! Our community hikes are designed for all skill levels and registration is not required. Each hike is led by experienced guides passionate about the outdoors and eager to share their knowledge about the CDT.

Time: 8:00am – 12:00pm
Location: El Calderon Trailhead (https://maps.app.goo.gl/eSeYVsPVeL3jHWQX8)
Directions: From Interstate I-40, take exit 81 and turn south on NM 53. Drive for 21.7 miles and turn left into the El
Calderon Trailhead parking lot.
Hike Details:
Trail Difficulty: Easy
The hike is a easy graveled hike for a 4.8 mile figure 8 loop that by lava tubes and cinder cones. The hike
will travel on a will gravel trail.
Participants are encouraged to bring a backpack and rain gear.
You may encounter wildlife as well as snakes and reptiles
Incumbent weather (Be prepared for rain showers that may occur)
