CDT Volunteer and Adopter Accomplishments

September 7, 2021

Thanks for joining for our second Volunteer Accomplishments post of the season! Volunteers are the absolute heart of the Continental Divide Trail, and we at CDTC are so grateful for all the hard work and stewardship that they provide to the trail. This year’s field programs are continuing to show great progress. We are delighted with the success of these projects and are eager to keep the ball rolling! Find a snapshot of some of our recent successes and highlights here.

CDTC worked in conjunction with Headwaters Trails Alliance on improving the Bowen Gulch section of the CDT. CDTC and HTA volunteers built a rock retaining wall to restore a section of the trial that had collapsed into a creek, and a mono wall leading up to the wall to help bring the height of the trail up to the hillside to restore it. In addition, all downed trees were removed from the USFS boundary to Bowen Pass. A large amount of corridor was cleared.

Thanks again to all our volunteers and adopters for their stewardship, dedication, and the joy you bring to us at CDTC!
