Pride on the Divide Community Hike I Leadville, CO
Join CDT Community Ambassador Hannah Guilford for a wildflower themed hike on Sunday July 19th from 9am – 12pm at Ptarmigan Lake that will include a foraging education session by Jillian Way, manager and owner of the Simple Lodge in Salida. As part of CDTC’s Pride on the Divide events for 2026 in partnership with Get Outdoors Leadville, participants will join together with residents from the CDT Gateway Communities of Leadville and Twin Lakes and Salida. This program is geared towards beginners who are comfortable hiking 2-3 miles in 1.5 hours. Participants will be asked to provide their own water, snacks, sun screen, and rain gear in case of inclement weather.

Meet the Leader: Hannah (she/her) is originally from Michigan and has had the honor of calling Colorado home since 2016. She is an avid long-distance hiker and lover of the Arkansas River Valley. She is on the board of the Chaffee Housing Trust and works for The Alliance doing violence prevention education with young people in Salida and Buena Vista. When she’s not frolicking in the mountains, you can find her making and eating baked goods, or with her nose in a book.
CDTC envisions a more equitable future for open lands: one in which all people are able to enjoy all the benefits of the Continental Divide landscape. Pride on the Divide recognizes that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Asexual, Two Spirit, and other members of the LGBTQIA2S+ Community are an integral part of the past, present, and future of the CDT community. CDTC hosts Pride on the Divide every year to celebrate LGBTQIA2S+ members of our trail community and to invite the CDT trail community to join us in continuing to ensure that the CDT Experience is one that is safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all.
Caminata Comunitaria “Pride on the Divide” | Leadville, CO
Acompaña a Hannah Guilford, embajadora comunitaria del CDT (Sendero de la divisoria continental siglas en Inglés), en una caminata centrada en las flores silvestres el domingo 19 de julio, de 9:00 a. m. a 12:00 p. m. La actividad incluirá una sesión educativa sobre la recolección de plantas silvestres comestibles, dirigida por Jillian Way, propietaria y gerente del Simple Lodge en Salida.
Como parte del programa “Pride on the Divide” de la CDTC y en colaboración con Get Outdoors Leadville, este evento reunirá a participantes de las comunidades de acceso al CDT (Gateway Communities) de Leadville, Twin Lakes y Salida.
La caminata es apta para principiantes (recorrido de 2 a 3 millas a un ritmo cómodo y tranquilo, con una duración aproximada de 1 hora y media de caminata) y se llevará a cabo en Ptarmigan Lake, cerca de Leadville, Colorado.
(Nota: Los participantes deben traer su propia agua, refrigerios, protector solar y ropa para la lluvia en caso de mal tiempo).
