For over 2 decades, this project has drawn a dedicated crowd of longtime CDT volunteers. Revel in the good times with other trail loving folks. The Carson National Forest boasts the tallest peak in New Mexico, Wheeler Peak, and the cooler summer temperatures allow New Mexicans some reprieve. This mixed conifer- aspen forest provides protection from the sun while the high meadows provide summer forage for elk.
We are delighted to be returning once again this year to work alongside the good folks on the Carson National Forest. As always we will supply all meals, hopefully we can convince our Executive Director to make one of her famous pies again this year 🙂
