Teresa Ana Martinez Legacy Fund

Arthur and Denise Foley established the Teresa Ana Martinez Legacy Fund to recognize the love and dedication of Teresa Martinez, CDTC’s co-founder and long-time Executive Director, for the protection and completion of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. Arthur and Denise are charter members of the Continental Divide Trail Coalition.

Arthur, a retired university chief financial officer, joined the CDTC board of directors in 2017 and currently serves as CDTC Treasurer. An Eagle Scout and life-long hiker, Arthur previously served twenty-four years on the board of directors of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, including eighteen years as ATC treasurer. He has been an ATC member and volunteer for more than fifty years. Arthur first met Teresa when she joined the ATC staff in the mid-1990s. Over the past thirty years he has observed and admired Teresa’s growth into a consummate trail professional and advocate at a national level.

Born and raised in Colorado, Denise has fond memories of hiking, camping, and fishing with her
grandparents in the Colorado Rockies. Backpacking on the Pacific Crest Trail was a highlight of Denise’s college experiences at Oregon State University. Denise continues to enjoy her times with the CDTC board members and staff.
