Pride on the Divide Community Hike: Berthoud Pass
Join the Continental Divide Trail Coalition for an early summer hike along – appropriately – the Continental Divide on Saturday, June 29! Great views and early season wildflowers create a beautiful venue to celebrate Pride on the Divide! And we’ll likely see some NOBO thru-hikers (and cheer them on)!
We’ll meet at the Berthoud Pass parking lot at 7:30am, be on the trail by 7:45am, and plan to be back to the cars by around 12:30pm. As always, we’ll be checking the weather enroute, turning around early if needed.
Register for the hike at this link to reserve your spot!
The hike will be most enjoyable for intermediate+ hikers in the LGBTQIA+ community, family, and friends. Per Wilderness Area regulations, limited to 12 participants (including the leader). Pace is moderate – 1.8 to 2.0 mph. No bikes. No dogs, please!
Be sure to bring the usual items for a high elevation hike above treeline – snacks, water, sunscreen, rain gear, various layers, etc. We may still encounter a few small snow patches.
Meet Your Leader: Your trip leader, Jenna (she/her), has been an avid hiker all her life. Last year she finished the Colorado Trail and now has set her sights on completing the Colorado portion of the CDT in the next 3 years. She retired in 2019 (BLM and USFS). She’s an active volunteer in various organizations, including the State Parks system and the Colorado Trail Foundation. She’s a senior but crazy enough to work on 3+ CTF trail crews this summer, as she’s done for the past 8 years.
